About The ENGLEBACH/NEWMAN Family
Please sign in to see more.
This is the genealogy of the Newman and Englebach families of Reading, Pa. The Neumann's were the newest to immigrate to the USA in the late 1800's from Prussian Germany and then changed their name to NEWMAN.
Our NEWMAN line married into an English family, the QUAINTANCE'S. They arrived via William about 1720 coming from Devonshire, England.
Our Henry ENGLEBACH arrived about 1853 from Germany. He enlisted in the army to fight in the civil war and after being wounded he enlisted again.
His son John married into the Frederich SEIDERS family from Lebanon County and John's son, Albert married into the George WUNDER family of Reading, PA. George originally came from Wurtemberg, Germany arriving in 1753.
Most of the families who married into the Englebach's were also from Germany, France or Switzerland. They settled in Southeastern Pennsylvania near the area known as Pennsylvania Dutch country, Berks Lebanon and Lancaster Counties. My immediate family of Newman's and Englebach's were from Southeast Reading, PA. during the beginning of the 20th century.
Please sign in to the guest book when you visit, I would like to know that our family is interested and will visit frequently. I have so much to add and I would like more input for our families to pass down to their children and know where we came from and who we are. I would also like to add cause of death and diseases they may have died of and little tidbits of nice information that generations from now would like to know. I sure wish someone would have left us some notes about themselves. We can just wonder what their lives were really like.
